Nawruz is celebrated widely in Afghanistan, from the preparation of Haft Mewa to the festivals of Gul -e Surkh (Red Flower Festival) New Year’s Day is a time of rejoice, and happiness.

In Queensland, the New Year’s Day celebration saw over 300 people gathering, and sharing a meal with friends and family. A combination of live music, great food, and great company made the night a highlight. The live entertainment in particular — featuring Dari, Pashto, Hazaragi, and Urdu music — was a big hit. May this year, and future years, see peace and prosperity within Afghanistan.
